We are looking for motivated and caring individuals to join the dedicated Paediatric Radiology team at the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. This post is eligible for a recruitment and retention incentive of £10,000 (pro rata) payable on joining the Trust (Terms & Conditions apply). In recognition of the national shortage of paediatric radiologists, this will be negotiated annually until we are fully staffed.
Southampton Children's Hospital is part of University Hospital Southampton and is a major centre for specialist paediatric services in the south of England, providing acute specialist care to our local population in Southampton and wider region, including the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands. We are a major paediatric trauma centre and part of the Oxford and Southampton Children's Hospital Network (cardiac, critical care, neuroscience, orthopaedics, rehabilitation and transitional care). The Hospital is a major teaching centre and is the base for the Wessex Radiology Training Scheme. Wessex School of Radiology has recently ranked top out of the 17 UK schools of Radiology for trainee satisfaction and clinical supervision following the recent GMC survey.
Paediatric Radiology is an essential component of the Southampton Children's Hospital and we have exciting plans to grow the service to continue to provide an excellent tertiary service and advice our local DGHs. The successful candidates will be required to have subspecialist training in Paediatric Radiology and be able to participate fully in the varied work of the department including the dedicated on-call rota. They will be encouraged to develop their area of subspecialist interest in collaboration with their colleagues.
